The mission of Winters AYSO is to deliver soccer at as high a level of skill as we are able to as many kids in Winters as we can.

AYSO stands for American Youth Soccer Organization. Nationwide, the organization serves over 500,000 kids and over 50,000 teams. If those numbers seem like a lot, Winters is no exception. Here, AYSO serves almost a quarter of the kids in town under the age of 18. Soccer is a popular sport. Even more impressively, Winters AYSO is run entirely by volunteers. We seek to provide soccer to as many kids as possible at as low a cost to the kids as possible.

According to the US Census Bureau estimate of July 1, 2009, Winters had a population of 7,011; a land area of 2.91 sq. miles; a water area of 0.03 sq. miles; and a population density of 2,407.62 people per sq. mile. Of those 7,000 people there were 2,186 households, out of which 949 (43.4%) had children under the age of 18 living in them over 400 of whom played AYSO soccer that year.

Winters AYSO serves as many of those kids as we can. On average, 400 kids participate in the Winters AYSO soccer program per year. Using a lot of estimating, that means that approximately a quarter of the children in Winters play soccer because of AYSO.
